[Break=part 1 - Creating the wirebase]

Open a new document 500x150



create a new layer (name it Wirebase)



1. Select the Pen tool

Make sure the settings are as follows :



2. Create your anchor points exactly as directed in the
image below :



You should now have a path similar to this :



3. Select the brush tool



Make sure the settings are as follows :



Doing this will basically set the thickness
our wirebase will be.

4. Now set the foreground colour to #000000
you can do this by clicking on the the colour
thumbnail located on the tools pallete.

5. Select the Pen tool again.



Now right click on the canvas and select
stroke path from the menu that appears :



Another menu will appear just select brush.

You should now have a wire like this :



Now DON'T delete the path just yet.

6. create a new layer (name it Wiresegment)

7. Select the brush tool again. Do exactly what you did
in part 3. only this time set the brush to :

Master Diameter - 13px
Hardness - 100%

8. Select the pen tool again. Right click on the canvas
again select stroke path from the menu. Remember to
select brush again form the second window that appears.

9. Right click on the canvas again now select delete
path from the menu :



You should now have a wire like this :



10. If you wish you can use the zoom tool to magnify
the wire to about 200%. I did this because it's easier
to delete the parts better when you can see what your doing.

11. Now select the eraser tool. Set the size as follows:

Master Diameter - 5px
Hardness - 100%

12. Now simply use the eraser to create the segments of the
wire like so :



If done correctly you should now have a wire
similar to this :

On the top Menu go to Layer > Layerstyle > Blending options
and use the following settings.

Drop Shadow


Bevel and Emboss




colour Overlay


If you followed all the steps exactly you should now have a
wire like this :
